noon. The big moment has come: The peeling to pupa! By fits and starts the old skin is being striped of. |

Even now you can see the butterfly's eyes, wings and antennas! | ||
After one night the
pupa gets its final look. Now it rests motionless until the butterfly's hatching out. A green pupa usually hatches out in the same year. If it hibernates, its color is usually brown (see next page). |
